Letters now cost .42 each to mail. Postcards are .27.
Envelopes over 6 inches wide or 11-1/2 inches long are .83 for the first ounce, .17 for additional ounces. Which makes it convenient if you're just over an ounce with your clips or proposal: it's $1 even.
The Post Office is so thoughtful that way.
